What can I capture text from?
Anything visible on your screen - videos, images, PDFs, web pages, streaming content, presentations, locked documents, and more. If you can see it, LudyLens can capture it.

What's the Pin Widget?
After capturing text, you can pin it as a floating window that stays on top of other apps. Toggle between image view (the original screenshot) and text view (editable). Adjust transparency, drag it anywhere, and it persists across app restarts.

What's the difference between capture modes?
Quick Lasso (⌘⇧L) is for everyday text. Code Mode (⌥⇧L) preserves formatting, indentation, and special characters for code snippets. QR Scanner (⌘⇧C) detects and decodes barcodes.

What barcodes can LudyLens scan?
LudyLens supports QR codes, Aztec, DataMatrix, PDF417, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-E, Code 39, Code 93, Code 128, and ITF-14. Just press ⌘⇧C and select the barcode area.

Does OCR work offline?
Yes. OCR uses Apple's Vision framework and runs entirely on-device. No internet required, no data leaves your Mac.

Which languages are supported?
20+ languages including English, Chinese (Simplified & Traditional), Japanese, Korean, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Russian, Arabic, Thai, Vietnamese, and more. Language detection is automatic.

What's the difference between Direct Download and App Store?
The Direct Download version includes automatic updates via Sparkle and is not sandboxed, allowing more flexibility. The App Store version follows Apple's sandboxing requirements. Both versions have the same core features.
